Northeast Ohio Public Universities Collaborate on Innovation
Innovation Day 2023 was a collaborative effort of the Northeast Ohio Public University Research Alliance (NEO-PURA) comprised of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ, Cleveland ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ University, Northeast Ohio Medical University, The University of Akron and Youngstown ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ University.
First-Gen Student Paves His Own Path
Delonte Goodman, ’22, interned at NASA in high school and is the first member of his family to attend college. He is pursuing a degree in mechatronics engineering while participating in research and serving as a Design Innovation Fellow.
DI Maker Program Is Among World’s Best
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Design Innovation Maker Program has been included in Newsweek’s 2021 list of Best Maker Schools in Higher Education that includes 200 universities worldwide.
DI Students Receive BioDesign Award
Two dozen students from seven different majors (including biology, fashion, architecture, environmental studies, and computer technology) worked in teams to create biodesign projects.

The Design Innovation Hub connects students, faculty and the community to a network of existing spaces, or DI Nodes, makerspaces and resource laboratories across the university.
Celebrating Liberty
Members of ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµâ€™s Design Innovation Initiative created a 3D-printed replica of the Liberty of Poetry statue that enabled visitors to see the Italian predecessor to the U.S. Statue of Liberty.
ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ Wins Two Awards in Campus Race to Zero Waste Contest
The National Wildlife Federation recently awarded ÐÓ°ÉÊÓÆµ first place in two categories from the 2021 Campus Race to Zero Waste competition: Zero Waste and Electronics Recycling – Total Pounds Recycled.
