ӰƵ Libraries will once again offer its Stress-Free Zone to all students, faculty and staff on Monday, Dec. 11, and Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 3-5 p.m. in the Garden Room at the University Library. This event gives the ӰƵ community a chance to wind down during finals week with snacks, games and the ®.

Earl K. Miller, Ph.D., and his wife, Marlene M. Wicherski, have pledged $2 million to fund three scholarships and a professorship in ӰƵ’s College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Miller is a ӰƵ alumnus who grew up in Lyndhurst, Ohio.

Supporters give more than $1 million
ӰƵ’s Giving Tuesday 2017 doubled the 2016 campaign – hitting more than $1 million just before midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 28. The single largest gift of the day was a $100,000 donation to the Fashion School Study Away Fund. From multiple student study abroad scholarships to research opportunities and poetry programs, there were more than 40 featured giving options across the ӰƵ system from which to choose.

Officers from ӰƵ Police Services have always had a “protect and serve” philosophy, and recently, they put this philosophy in action in order to help families in need.
Each year, the department holds a “Glow, Grow and Give” fundraiser throughout the month of November to raise money for a worthy cause. The staff members can donate $30, and in return, they may grow out beards (for men), dye their hair pink or blue or paint their fingernails.

The ӰƵ men’s basketball team had a successful home opener, Thursday, Nov. 16, in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). The Golden Flashes defeated the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers, 90-45.

ӰƵ Athletics is the first in the Mid-American Conference to provide student-athletes with a cryotherapy chamber. The therapy uses subzero temperatures, under 200 degrees Fahrenheit, to help muscles recover quickly.
