Get Involved

There are many ways for students to become involved in sustainability on campus. Various on and off campus resouces are available.  There are many student groups and various events on campus.  Additionally, many faculty members across ӰƵ’s colleges and schools incorporate sustainability into their courses.

The ӰƵ Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting Wednesday, Dec. 7. The Board is scheduled to convene at 11:30 a.m. in Franklin Hall, Room 213. Franklin Hall is located at 550 Hilltop Drive in Kent, Ohio. Trustees will retire into executive session from 8-9 a.m. in Room 213 to consider specific topics as provided for under Ohio’s “Sunshine Law.”  Board committees will meet as follows: Academic Excellence and Student Success Committee – 9-10 a.m. in Room 213. ӰƵ students share a laugh in the Nest. On Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, alumni, friends, faculty and staff are encouraged to take a moment to “put your money where your heart is” with gifts supporting ӰƵ students.

ӰƵ President Beverly Warren again pledged $25,000 to support ӰƵ on Nov. 29, which is Giving Tuesday. In addition, the ӰƵ Foundation is pledging an additional $50,000 to match every gift, dollar for dollar, designated to the ӰƵ programs and initiatives of the donor’s choice.         ӰƵ has participated in Giving Tuesday the last four years, and this is the second year that Warren has pledged a matching gift. ӰƵ is hosting a Big Dream Gathering on Nov. 29, and everyone is invited – ӰƵ students, faculty, staff and people in the surrounding community. These Big Dream Gathering events have been taking place around the country, and they provide a fun, safe and encouraging environment for people to think about their big dreams and ideas, write them down and then get help to make those dreams a reality.
