RecycleMania is a competition for college and university recycling programs that helps to promote waste reduction activities in their campus communities.The competition started on Feb. 1 and runs for eight weeks. The recent measles outbreak in the United ӰƵs has stirred up a lot of debate about getting children vaccinated. ӰƵ associate professor Tara Smith in the College of Public Health shared her views with CNN on what does and does not influence parents to vaccinate their children.  Smith points to psychological studies where showing parents positive medical data can often do more harm than good. "Do it in the Dark" is a two week energy conservation competition hosted by Residence Services at ӰƵ in Kent, Ohio.  Each fall semester Residence Services hosts the annual "Do it in the Dark" energy reduction competition, putting residence hall vs. residence hall in a battle to reduce electricity over a two week period of time. Gerald (Jerry) Payto’s father taught him an important lesson early on in life. “He used to say, ‘You really don’t receive until you give,’” Jerry said. “That has stuck in my mind my whole life."
