Governor Appoints Renato Camacho to ӰƵ Board of Trustees
Renato “Ren” Camacho of North Canton, Ohio, has been appointed to the ӰƵ Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine. Camacho, who currently serves as president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Airport, brings expertise in both economic development and aviation to the ӰƵ Board.

ӰƵ Board of Trustees Establishes Six New Majors
The ӰƵ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of six new majors during its regular quarterly meeting held March 9 in Columbus, Ohio, at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. Five of the new majors fall under the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, and one falls under the College of Arts and Sciences.

ӰƵ Board of Trustees Approves Master’s Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies
The ӰƵ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new master’s degree that will help meet two decades of sustained growth in the broad field of conflict studies. The new Peace and Conflict Studies major within the Master of Arts degree will be offered in person on the Kent Campus and will prepare students for careers as practitioners in the fields of peace and conflict management and for doctorate study.

The ӰƵ Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2026 at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 21 at the ӰƵ Airport. ӰƵ’s freshman class began classes on the Kent Campus nearly 7% larger than the previous year with 4,251 students – the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history.
