ӰƵ Honors Veterans With Annual Commemoration Event
ӰƵ held its annual Veterans Day Commemoration on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year’s guest speaker was Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of ӰƵ’s Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

National Depression Screening Day Is Oct. 3
You are not alone. Depression and anxiety don’t need to be masked. The 25th annual National Depression Screening Day at ӰƵ will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, on several campus locations. ӰƵ has selected Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., to serve as interim vice president for student affairs, effective Sept. 16. Hylton has served as dean of students since coming to ӰƵ on June 1, 2017. More than 1,000 volunteers from the ӰƵ community welcomed and assisted new students as they moved into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 18. The annual community program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by Kent Interhall Council, the student government of the Kent Campus residence halls.

The 2019 Larry Pollock ӰƵ of Wellness Summit will take place on Wednesday, April 3, from 5-8 p.m. at the Kent Student Center Ballroom with the theme “ӰƵ of Mind: Creating a Community of Health, Hope and Awareness.”
