ӰƵ Nursing Professor Receives Outstanding Teaching Award
Students who have taken classes from Professor Mary Kutchin, MSN, RN, CNS, praise her strong communication skills, her leadership and her caring nature. It was their recommendations that led to her being selected for a 2018 Outstanding Teacher Award. “I felt like it was such an honor to be acknowledged by this teaching award,” says Ms. Kutchin. “I know how busy students are, and I am overwhelmed that more than one student took the time to nominate me for this award.”
Herb Page to Retire After 41 Seasons
ӰƵ's storied golf program will begin a new chapter in July. The 2018-19 golf season will be the final one for as men's head coach and director of golf. On Thursday, Mr. Page announced his upcoming retirement and the appointment of as men's golf coach at the University. After leading the men's golf team to 22 MAC crowns and being a part of 20 conference titles in 20 seasons from the women's team, Mr. Page is the proud owner of 43 MAC Championship rings.

School of Theatre and Dance department wins multiple awards for program, production and professionals
At the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year, the School of Theatre and Dance was nationally recognized and added several new awards to its collection, and the Porthouse Theatre, ӰƵ's summer professional theatre, also received multiple honors for achievements during the 2018 Season.
#MeToo Course to be Offered Again in Fall 2019 Semester
ӰƵ English Professor Vera Camden, Ph.D., turned a movement against sexual assault and harassment into a course in order to study the impact of the movement and the forces that led to it. “My hope is to keep a certain momentum going,” Dr. Camden said. “Because so often in our culture, things spike, and then they go away. I really feel like this is so important and so urgent and so serious.”
Professor Janice Lessman-Moss Awarded United ӰƵs Artists Fellowship
Janice Lessman-Moss, professor of Textiles, recently was awarded a United ӰƵs Artists Fellowship in Craft, which includes $50,000 in unrestricted funds.
Exciting Future Predicted for Brain Health Research Institute
With great hope and expectations for the future of brain health research at ӰƵ, President Beverly J. Warren introduced Michael N. Lehman, Ph.D., as the inaugural director of the university’s Brain Health Research Institute on Feb. 25.

Following a national search, ӰƵ has named alumnus Kenneth Burhanna as the new dean of University Libraries, effective March 1, 2019.
