ӰƵ Honors the Legacy of May 4, 1970, With 55th Commemoration

On May 2-4, 2025, ӰƵ will hold its annual commemoration to honor the memory of May 4, 1970 – a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on ӰƵ students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students and wounding nine others. May 4, 1970, marked a pivotal moment in American history.

ӰƵ Board Endorses New Structure for Academic Colleges, Establishes Three New Majors

The ӰƵ Board of Trustees met March 19 on the Kent Campus for its regular quarterly meeting. Among its actions, the Board endorsed the Division of Academic Affairs’ plan for degree-granting colleges called Transformation 2028.

Fully Online Programs Offer Flexibility, Quality

The national trend of fully online enrollment has been decreasing since the pandemic, but ӰƵ’s online programs are bucking those trends. ӰƵ offers 90 fully online degree and certificate programs. From bachelor’s to master’s degree programs, the university provides its nationally distinctive academics completely online.
